Tips on How to get Healthy Hours of Sleep

 

For many people suffering from sleep disorders or sleep deprivations it is not yet the end of the world for you. You might be clueless on how to get the best hours of sleep and how to begin with good sleep hygiene. Well, here are some tips you can follow on as you begin your journey of getting rid and overcoming your sleep disorders.

1.    If you are living in a place where it is mostly humid and hot, and then set your bedroom in a cooler temperature. It has been discovered and proven in a study that people suffering from sleep deprivation has a higher body temperature when they are about to sleep. The cooler the room, the faster you fall asleep. During winter season, you probably don’t need to set your room in a lower temperature, but you can use a humidifier to help your breathing while you sleep.

 

2.    Another way to get rid of your sleep disorder is to find a way to calm your body and switch your mindset to relaxation mode. People who are experiencing sleep deprivation stresses themselves more and this even gives them a hard time to sleep. You have to lie down on your bed or in a comfortable chair and then breathe deeply. Begin to focus on your feet. Once you inhale, imagine your breath expanding through your lungs and moving down your body towards your feet. After this, exhale and imagine your breath moving up back to your body from your feet. You can do this three times until you reach all parts of your body. This is one good sleep hygiene technique you can definitely follow.

3.    You might have witnessed or experienced this in spa centers, but this is really effective. Set a mood for your room that will surely relax you after a tiring day. You can even set the dim lights to better set the mood. Some people find it hard to sleep even with the lights off, so you can have a little light and then slowly dim it down until you get used to a darker room.

 

4.    Avoid from in taking caffeine heavy beverages or food that are meant to stimulate you. Some people are used to midnight snacks or heavy desserts. Sweets make you more active and its effect is similar to caffeine. Try to follow a good healthy diet most especially during the evening before you sleep. Through this, you will not just get a good sleeping pattern but a good healthy body as well.

 

5.    Practice sleeping early. If you find a time where you are not that much stress at work or in school, sleep early. Help you body set its own body clock it would get used to it. Once your body clock is set, you will find it easy to sleep apnea at the proper time with the proper amount of sleep as well. This may take some time but its surely worth the effort.
